Spende statt Weihnachtsgeschenke:
Assystem at the Paris Air Show 2013:
the challenges of a European engineering consultancy
30% growth in the aviation sector since 2010
500 new hires expected in 2013, 30% of them new graduates
Focus on innovation: a flight simulator with touch controls
Paris, June 13, 2013 - Assystem, an international engineering and innovation consultancy, will be attending the 50th Paris Air Show to be held from 17 to 23 June 2013. As a leading player in the field of aeronautical engineering with a 300 million euros turnover in this sector, 4,000 Assystem experts are involved throughout the entire lifecycle of an aircraft, from R&D to operations, via system development and integration, testing and validation, supply chain and production optimization, maintenance, retrofit and upgrades.
Today, the aviation industry's challenges go beyond designing and developing new aircraft. Despite a constant flow of innovations, it also has to deal with considerable backlogs, which in turn means stepping up production rates without overloading the supply chain. With over a decade of experience in process engineering, Assystem has developed specific solutions for these activities which today account for half of its aviation business. Sales have tripled in the last 10 years, growing by 30% since 2010.
To meet this rising demand, there is a vital need for qualified engineers. This is why the company continues to take on 400 junior and senior hires in France during 2013 (30% of which are new graduates), and 500 across Europe. The most sought-after profiles cover 60% engineers (computing, materials, industrialization, mechanical design, quality, and project management) and 40% technicians (methods, maintenance, and design draftsmen).
At the Paris Air Show, Assystem will also exhibit its latest R&D innovation - a touch-control A380 flight simulator. This flight simulator will feature in a contest whereby visitors to the Assystem Chalet can try out their skills at landing an A380 and win a daily contest for best pilot, with the proceeds going to the Aviation Sans Frontières (ASF) association. This promotes one of the Group's vital concerns of putting aviation skills to work for humanitarian causes.
